Preschool
This class is for 2 - 3 year olds, and we provide a curriculum which aims at giving children a strong foundation intellectually, physically and socially.
We construct a yearly program where each monthly theme is linked and related, so that students can make real progress in their intellectual, physical and social skills. Our curriculum is adapted to match the developmental needs of each child at a particular stage in their development. We have an eclectic but holistic approach to language acquisition, which recognizes that there is no one best method of learning a language. We also realize how important it is for children to learn through play.
The program also incorporates math and science, language art, gross motor skills and learning centers, which are areas within the classroom that define a special focus (Discovery/Science Area, Art Area, Fine Motor Skills Area, Dramatics Area, Construction Area, Book Area and a Soft Area).
Our environment is very important to life, and we aim to provide one that is rich and stimulating for children. When children can control and act upon their environment, they can maximize their development, and NWIS will offer activities and choices which will stimulate children's sense of curiosity.
Kindergarten
Children are at the Pre-logical Thinking Stage during their kindergarten years, and we aim to help them fully develop four important abilities : Observation, Assumption, Logical Thinking and Mother Tongue.
Here at NWIS we consider Kindergarten to be a place where children are preparing for Elementary School, so it is vital that they can acquire the necessary skills to enter this next stage of their educational career. This approach is the norm in Western culture, and we believe it will greatly benefit children's lives. Students in the kindergarten program at NWIS will learn basic Mathematics, reading & writing in English, pattern recognition, prediction and more.
When children graduate from our Kindergarten class, we hope they leave feeling confident, intellectually curious, physically fit and aware of how they affect the people and environment that they inhabit.

Daycare Service
A fun program for Pre School and Kindergarten aged children.
We will provide a safe and relaxed environment where children can play, read, draw and enjoy activities. There are no specific learning objectives within Day Care, as the emphasis is on having fun and playing with friends and teachers.

- Morning: 9:00 - 10:00 (¥900 / hour)
- Afternoon: 14:00 - 17:00 (¥1000 / hour)
Day care is available for only NWIS members (Preschool, Kindergarten, Afterschool) by reservation only.
