Our staff come from a variety of countries and backgrounds, bringing with them a wide range of experience and commitment. We all believe in the same thing: that education is the foundation of life, and that early childhood education is an essential element in fostering an appreciation of life long learning in people.
Rika Miyoshi - Principal & Administrator
Rika has had a successful career in the Early Childhood Education field. She is a Certified Kindergarten Teacher and gained experience in Early Childhood Education at Humboldt State University in the USA. She has worked at Hinode Gakuen Kindergarten in Meguro as a teacher, Kumano Kindergarten as HeadTeacher and at Junior Jump Academy.
She also ran another school, ABC Club, which taught English to elementary school aged children. She became involved in the setting up of NWIS, and helped establish us in our early stages. In addition to being the Principal and Administrator, Rika provides an After School Program for Kindergarten and Elementary classes, as well as being a Teacher in the Day School Program.

Eddy Travers - Head Teacher
Eddy comes to NWIS with experience teaching in Europe, Canada and Japan. He holds a degree in Linguistics and has taught children of all ages in English language schools, elementary schools and kindergartens. He also has experience helping to organize large events for children such as Summer English camps and a Halloween show at Tokyo Mutsugoro Petting Zoo.

Bram Tolkamp - Assistant Teacher
Bram is from Holland and can speak four languages. Before joining our team at NWIS, he was responsible for English teaching at kindergartens in Japan. Our kids love his magic tricks!

Vanneza Aurelio - Assistant Teacher
Vanneza is our newest teacher at NWIS. She's from the Philippines. She loves kids and has two kids of her own.
